Written By Eric Gomes: Tickets for talented undefeated star Terence Crawford’s next fight against Gold Medalist Olympian Felix Diaz are now on sale. The bout will test Crawford’s star power in the “big room” at Madison Square Garden, May 20, 2017. This feature will be televised live on HBO World Championship Boxing®, beginning at 10:15 p.m. ET/PT.
Terence Crawford (30-0, 21 KOs) has an impressive undefeated record and now faces his second Undefeated Olympic Gold Medalist in the last 3 years. In June of 2014, Crawford faced then-unbeaten Olympic Gold Medalist from Cuba, Yuriorkis Gamboa. Gamboa had success early, but Crawford made the proper adjustments, switching stances en route to a 4-knockdown 9th round TKO stoppage win over the Cuban.
Now Crawford faces another stiff test in Felix Diaz (19-1, 9 KOs), a crafty 2008 Olympic Gold Medalist and 2x Olympian from the Dominican Republic. Felix Diaz’ record does have one blemish on it, his 2015 Majority Decision loss to Lamont Peterson. However, Felix Diaz vs. Lamont Peterson was highly competitive, a fight many believe could’ve easier gone in Diaz’ favor. Diaz has since impressed showing up as late replacement and defeating then-undefeated Sammy Vasquez on PBC. Diaz bloodied and pummeled the highly touted prospect Vasquez over the course of 10 rounds.
Crawford vs. Diaz undercard will showcase an IBF eliminator with a former Crawford foe, Ray Beltran. The Main Event Terence Crawford himself faced Beltran in his hometown of Omaha, NE back in 2014. Ray Beltran will take on Jonathan “The Last Inca” Maicelo in this IBF eliminator. Beltran-Maicelo winner will become mandatory for “About Billions” Champion Robert Easter Jr’s IBF strap. As previously, reported by boxingego.com, Easter Jr. will have another hometown fight against the dangerous Denis Shafikov on Friday, June 30th. Crawford-Diaz card also showcases 2016 Rio Olympian and Silver Medal Winner, Shakur Stevenson making his 2nd appearance as a pro.

Wednesday, April 5, at 10 a.m. ET / 7:00 a.m. PT.
